About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse for multiple travel/contract positions in Dartmouth, MA. This role involves providing and coordinating care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs for Adolescents through Geriatric patients, working in Children units if required. The RN will develop and implement nursing care plans, maintain medical records, and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions. Care must be provided within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state regulations, policies, and procedures. The RN will also ensure physicians’ orders are transcribed appropriately, patients’ status is assessed and documented, and notify physicians of significant changes. Initial nursing treatment plans must be completed upon admission and be specific to assessed needs.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse: 2 years - Required
  • Recent/Current Psychiatric Nursing or Behavioral health: 1 year – Required
  • Experience with Adolescents and Child patient population
  • Paper charting experience
  • ASN or an equivalent – Required
  • RN License for State of MA - Required
  • BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross - Required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or an equivalent – Highly preferred
  • CPI or HWC Certification - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs for Adolescents through Geriatric patients, work in Children units if required.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
  • Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
  • Ensure patients’ status is assessed on an ongoing basis and pertinent information is gathered and documented.
  • Notify physicians of significant changes in status.
  • Ensure that initial nursing treatment plans are completed upon admission and that all nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs.
