About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Behavioral Health department at Ascension Saint Thomas Highlands in Sparta, TN. The position is full-time and involves night shifts. The nurse will be responsible for performing bio-psychosocial assessments, developing nursing care plans, participating in treatment team conferences, implementing care plans, conducting group therapy sessions, and evaluating patient responses to interventions.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice.
Develop a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.
Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conduct and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.
Evaluate patient's response to interventions and revise nursing plan of care as needed.
Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status.
