About The Position
Bring Your Nursing Expertise to Behavioral Health Crisis Care The Centers is launching the Behavioral Health Crisis Centers (BHCC) this September, an innovative, state-of-the-art facility designed to expand access to immediate, trauma-informed support for adults experiencing mental health or substance use crises. Our walk-in, 24/7 crisis model will offer people a safe, welcoming alternative to emergency rooms, jail, or the streets while providing rapid assessment, stabilization, and connection to ongoing care. The BHCC brings together a full continuum of services across three floors, including crisis care, stabilization, and ongoing behavioral health and primary care supports through our Health Center programs. This integrated approach allows teams to meet people where they are and guide them toward sustained recovery. The Opportunity: We are hiring Registered Nurses (RN) for our Crisis Receiving Center. Provide high-quality healthcare to individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted Ohio RN license
- 1+ years clinical nursing experience
- BLS certification, at least 2 weeks prior to start
- Clear, effective verbal and written communication
- Cultural humility and respect for diversity
- Interpersonal effectiveness and trust-building
- Clinical competence in mental health/substance use crises
- Flexibility to support clients in each phase of the behavioral health crisis center continuum (this should be reiterated that they will float to areas /units of need)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care: triage, assessments, care coordination
- Utilize nursing process per Ohio's Nurse Practice Act
- Administer treatments and medications per provider orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and families on conditions and treatments
- Document accurately in electronic medical record
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Improvement activities
