About The Position

This role involves supervising, coordinating, and providing leadership while directing the activities of associates in the Cardiothoracic Stepdown department at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The Assistant Manager will assess daily patient access needs, ensure appropriate patient care is provided, and oversee all aspects of nursing department operations. Key responsibilities include delivering quality patient care, ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives, and delegating duties to clinical staff based on their skills and abilities. The role also involves collaborating with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date, participating in quality initiatives and auditing projects, and developing plans for improvement. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Cardiac Telemetry experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Surgery experience preferred not required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date and followed.
  • Participate with ongoing quality initiatives, auditing projects and development of plans for improvement.
  • Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
