About The Position

Works under the direction of the Behavioral & Mental Health (BMH) Clinical Operations Manager to facilitate daily operations, including patient flow, staffing assignments, safe patient care, and to promote a healthy work environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. This role is in Full-time Night Shift at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a minimum of 1 year of people management experience.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment
Marcus Crisis Prevention Program Tier 5 training, or equivalent, within 3 months of employment
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates the ability to organize workloads and resources

Nice To Haves

1 year of management/administrative experience in a healthcare setting
Experience in pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing experience
Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire

Responsibilities

Supports environment for delivery of care for BMH patients.
Acts as clinical resource for BMH patient populations throughout all areas of hospital, including Emergency Department and inpatient areas.
Maintains competence to provide and/or assist with clinical care, including acting as Code BERT lead.
Participates in educational process related to delivery of healthcare.
Maintains own professional development.
Fosters professional development of others via constructive performance feedback, input, and coaching.
Understands and supports Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's nursing career advancement program, My Nursing Career Path, as well as BMH Tech advancement.
Participates actively in and supports shared leadership councils.
Fosters collegial relationships between team members, other departments, and medical staff members.
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in supporting budget, productivity, and resource utilization.
Manages and orders required supplies to promote quality patient care delivery.
Serves as department leader on shift in absence of manager.
Drives and effectively facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge process, ensuring efficient and safe patient flow through collaboration with physicians, inter-professional team, hospital leadership, and staff.
Removes or escalates barriers to appropriate leader.
Supports staffing effectiveness.
Participates in achievement of organization and BMH departmental goals.
Leads department staff meetings.
