About The Position

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with apheresis experience to join our team supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland on a 13-week contract. This is a unique opportunity to provide exceptional nursing care while working alongside world-class healthcare professionals in an environment dedicated to advancing patient care and medical research. The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive outpatient nursing services at the National Institutes of Health. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary healthcare team, the RN will support clinical operations, coordinate patient care, provide education, and help ensure outstanding patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)
  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in at least one U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital experience in apheresis
  • Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinical setting
  • Perform patient assessments and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and patient education
  • Triage patient concerns and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
  • Monitor patient conditions and communicate significant changes to providers
  • Support chronic disease management and preventive health initiatives
  • Coordinate referrals, consultations, and continuity of care
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation in NIH electronic health systems
  • Follow all infection prevention, patient safety, privacy, and quality assurance standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs
