About The Position

Meritus Health’s Ambulatory Services team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of outpatient specialty clinics and procedural areas, caring for diverse patient populations and supporting a wide range of treatments and procedures. Ambulatory RNs play an important role in helping patients safely navigate procedures, specialty care, and ongoing treatment outside of the traditional inpatient setting. From preparing patients for procedures to providing education and monitoring recovery, you’ll help ensure patients receive coordinated, compassionate care throughout their experience.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license or qualifying Compact/Multistate RN license required.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Prior surgical services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in ambulatory and outpatient settings.
  • Prepare, assess, educate, and monitor patients before and after procedures.
  • Assist physicians and providers with a variety of procedures, including: Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Pain management procedures, Endoscopy procedures.
  • Support physician consultations and specialty clinic visits.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
  • Provide patients and families with education regarding procedures, treatment plans, recovery, and follow-up care.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, providers, nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
