About The Position

Meritus Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Services to join their growing team. In this role, you'll care for patients across a variety of specialty clinics and procedural areas, working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys a fast-paced outpatient environment, diverse clinical experiences, patient education, and procedural nursing. Ambulatory Services nurses play an important role in guiding patients through specialty care and procedures while helping ensure a safe, coordinated, and positive experience. From preparing patients for procedures to providing education, monitoring recovery, and coordinating follow-up care, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact throughout the patient's healthcare journey.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse experience required
  • Active Maryland RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in ambulatory and outpatient settings.
  • Assess patients and prepare them for procedures and specialty visits.
  • Assist physicians and providers with minor surgical and procedural services, including paracentesis, thoracentesis, pain management, and endoscopy procedures.
  • Support physician consultations and specialty clinic visits.
  • Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure assessment, education, and monitoring.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes or concerns.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, high-quality care.
