This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the GCMG Urgent Care: Morehead - Immediate Care department. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The role also involves continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, administering medications and treatments, demonstrating effective communication, pursuing professional development, and adhering to ethical practices. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and accurate EHR documentation are also key aspects of the role. The nurse may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate age-specific knowledge and skills. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and proficiency in computer functions. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting, with the ability to lift and support 35 pounds and perform sliding transfers. Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch are necessary, along with fine hand manipulation skills. The role may involve exposure to hazardous materials and communicable diseases, requiring protective clothing. Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
