About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Allergy Clinic position is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, with a Monday-Friday schedule during clinic hours at Walworth Hospital & Medical Center. The pay range for this position is $32.47-$50.33 per hour. This role utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in patient care. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, performing assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care, and documenting according to standards. The nurse will develop, initiate, and execute patient care plans, including patient and family education, utilizing available resources. The position also involves resolving systems breakdowns, participating in performance improvement activities, and utilizing critical thinking for patient safety and experience. Continuous learning, mentoring new partners, and offering solutions to practice issues are also key aspects of this role. The nurse will use innovative methods to develop and implement care plans and educate patients/families, and initiate interdisciplinary collaboration for educational needs. A minimum of 20 education hours and participation in at least one departmental or unit performance improvement activity are required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • ADN required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 2 year's experience required.
  • Licensed as an RN in state of practice.
  • Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 3 months.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Other certification(s) per department requirements. For example: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP.
  • May include color blind test (per department guidelines).

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
  • Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
  • Documents according to standards of care.
  • Develops initiates and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.
  • Utilizes resources available to teach and support patient and family education.
  • Provides education to the appropriate level of understanding.
  • Acts to resolve systems breakdowns and engages self and others in providing solutions.
  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.
  • Utilizes clinical expertise & guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
  • Utilizes critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.
  • Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit/department practice activities and decisions and peer review process.
  • Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.
  • Engages in personal development and supports system-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth including developing or revising evidence-based practice guidelines.
  • Actively participates in mentoring and precepting new partners to organization.
  • Offers ideas and/or solutions to practice issues.
  • Uses innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of care.
  • Provides innovative ways to educate patient/families.
  • Initiates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the patient/family educational needs.
