This position directs nursing care to residents and oversees day-to-day nursing activities performed by certified nursing assistants, Nursing Assistants, and Non-Certified Medication Aides. The role operates in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, as well as established facility policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse promotes holistic care for residents, ensures compliance with policies, and participates in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers. Key responsibilities include assessing resident status changes, managing physician orders, administering medications, coordinating specialized care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The role also involves participating in management meetings, potentially evaluating nursing personnel performance, reporting concerns, and providing end-of-life care. Ensuring adequate supplies, updating care plans, promoting teamwork, and participating in surveys and QAPI activities are also crucial. The position requires adherence to infection control principles, providing medication technician training, maintaining logs, and executing medication destruction procedures. Additionally, the nurse ensures timely transitions for residents to home health, hospice, or palliative services and performs other assigned duties.
