About The Position

The Registered Nurse Adult ED works in the Emergency Department at Ascension St Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. This full-time, night-shift role implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient condition, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and helps coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained before hire or job transfer.
• At least one of the following: Advanced Life Support obtained within 180 days of hire or job transfer, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained before hire or job transfer. American Heart Association or American Red Cross certifications are accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
