About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients admitted to the inpatient unit. The RN completes comprehensive admission assessments, develops individualized nursing care plans, coordinates patient care, and ensures accurate documentation and communication with the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute-care or inpatient nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and assess patients upon admission to the unit.
  • Obtain and document comprehensive nursing histories, vital signs, medication history, allergies, and other relevant clinical information.
  • Perform a thorough head-to-toe assessment and identify actual or potential patient care needs.
  • Review admission orders and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Reconcile medications and communicate discrepancies or concerns to the appropriate provider.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs.
  • Educate patients and families regarding the plan of care, medications, treatments, safety precautions, and unit procedures.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report significant findings to the healthcare provider.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician/provider orders and hospital policies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain patient safety, including fall prevention, infection control, and appropriate use of safety precautions.
  • Participate in handoff communication and ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with discharge planning and provide appropriate discharge education.
  • Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
