About The Position
UW Medical Center–Northwest - Acute Care Resource Team has an excellent opportunity for a Night Shift Float Nurse. This position offers the chance to work on a variety of inpatient units, join a team where no two shifts are alike, and gain cross-training opportunities on specialty floors, including behavioral health. The role involves providing bedside care and life-changing care for hospital patients.
Requirements
- 3 years of acute care inpatient hospital nursing experience
- BLS
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
- Exposure to behavioral health nursing or a willingness to learn the fundamentals of behavioral health nursing
Responsibilities
- Identify care needs across a broad spectrum of hospital departments
- Triage patient care priorities in collaboration with the nursing supervisor
- Work alongside doctors, social workers, care managers, and therapists
- Restore patients’ health by following evidence-based nursing practices
- Monitor and administer medications and IVs
