About The Position

The Registered Nurse A is responsible for maintaining a high standard of patient care in accordance with the vision, mission and philosophy of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. As a member of The Nursing Department, The Registered Nurse A has the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive client centered care.

Requirements

  • 3 years acute care nursing including 1 year recent Emergency nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Current registration with CRNS
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Required to complete an Adult Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners training
  • Required to be SANE certified and maintain that certification
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Communication skills
  • Sound clinical judgment skills
  • Capability to lead self: Demonstrates character
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to identify needs of sexually assaulted patients in a timely manner
  • Committed to own professional growth and development
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and pleasant manner
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement
  • Ability to use compassionate sensitive approach relating to victims & families
  • Ability to perform technical emergency nursing duties with skill and competence
  • Ability to operate related equipment & carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to deal tactfully, non-judgmentally and effectively with people
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)

Nice To Haves

  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or other trauma assessment course desired
