About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced nurses to join their team and collaborate with top medical professionals. This role is on the 5E Med/Surg unit, a 30-bed unit dedicated to respiratory, infectious diseases, and general Med/Surg care. The unit offers opportunities for professional growth, including earning a Med Surg/Progressive Care certification. The unit embraces a friendly culture, emphasizing teamwork and cohesion, and is described as a place where nurses are taught to be the best and actively participate in succession planning. Various shifts and statuses are available, with a requirement of one on-call shift for every 6-week schedule.

Requirements

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience

Responsibilities

• Obtain Med Surg/Progressive Care certifications
• Develop strong bedside and procedural skills
• Understand and develop further expertise for a variety of treatments due to the nature of acuity adaptable
• Time management & flexibility while managing patients ranging in acuity levels
