The Nurse Manager ensures day-to-day operations of the Medical Discharge Program through active supervision of nursing staff and implementation of discharge planning treatment and services. Major responsibilities include program needs assessment and development to ensure that the discharge plans are implemented with best practice as identified in the scientific literature. Oversees the quality of services provided and implements quality assurance practices. The Nurse Manager provides medical consultation, nursing supervision, and guidance related to discharge related treatment plan adherence. This position oversees 3 nursing staff which includes licensed registered nurse level staff. This position implements procedures related to Discharge Services as assigned by the Medical Director. The incumbent makes recommendations for patient care decisions including care planning, medical management, and the discharge/transfer of patients to less restrictive care settings. This position plays a critical role in statewide initiatives by participating in multiprogram cross systems mapping/value stream mapping projects in an effort to enhance patient service needs and better bridge state resources. The job is based on McNeil Island and requires ferry travel from Steilacoom, which is provided to employees. The ferry ride is approximately 20 minutes each way. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. SCC employees receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
