This position involves assessing assigned patients, evaluating plans, and documenting nursing care. The Registered Nurse will modify patient treatment plans based on responses, conditions, and physician orders, and review diagnostic tests. They will consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations and procedures, considering patient age and culture, providing psychological support, and administering medications safely within the scope of practice. Accurate record-keeping for medications and treatments is essential, adhering to regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders. The role requires timely communication of the plan of care to patients, families, and team members, ensuring HIPAA compliance. The nurse will also utilize resources for discharge planning, plan and adjust assignments to achieve goals, and operate medical equipment safely. Additionally, the position involves serving as a preceptor to assist new staff in patient care and acclimation to the healthcare environment.
