The Neuromedicine Pain Treatment Center collaborates with the department of Neurosurgery, caring for patients with complex pain-related issues. Procedures include injections, infusions, nerve blocks, and spinal cord stimulator trails. Role responsibilities involve direct patient care, patient education, and telephone triage. Requirements

  • Active NYS license.
  • Excellent IV skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior completion or completion of ACLS within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in moderate sedation preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Med/Surg, ambulatory care, or the OR.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
