Registered Nurse 2 On Call - CBCC
About The Position
The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Registered Nurse (RN2) for the Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) located in Clallam Bay, WA. CBCC has an operating capacity of 858 male individuals. On-call/intermittent staff are expected to be available to work all shifts (day, swing and graveyard) including weekends and holidays as requested. To qualify for benefits upon hire, you must be willing to work 10 shifts a month and provide written availability by the 10th of each month for the following month's coverage. A paid six-week correctional worker core training is available but not required. Registered Nurses will receive shift differential for evening and night shifts, as well as supplemental shift premiums for late-night hours and weekend work.
Requirements
- Active and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in Washington State, or an unencumbered Multi State License from a participating Compact Licensure State.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid Washington State license to practice as a Registered Nurse prior to employment.
- Must have initial and continuous unencumbered/unrestricted licensure.
- One year of experience working as a Registered Nurse.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Under rare circumstances this position may be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
- Requires respirator medical evaluation questionnaire, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the WA Industrial Safety & Act standards.
- Candidates must possess work authorization that does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa now or in the future.

Responsibilities
- Deliver services that promote health, foster healing, and support coping and adjustment to various health conditions.
- Screen, assess, and evaluate incarcerated individuals and their conditions.
- Respond to all other requests for health care attention in a complete, timely, clinically appropriate and therapeutic manner.
- Delegate and supervise work, monitor, manage, coordinate, and deliver health care.
- Plan transition, make referrals, and arrange follow-up when patients transfer or return to the community.
- Assist patients to improve their skill and ability to provide care for themselves and their family.
- Counsel, consult, teach, advise, and provide health information that improves quality of health services and/or enhances safety and security.
