About The Position

The University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 for the CTU at Deerfield. This role involves assessing assigned patients, evaluating plans of care, and documenting nursing care. The nurse will report symptoms and changes in patients' condition, modify treatment plans as needed, and review diagnostic tests. Collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals is key to developing and implementing patient care plans. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations and procedures, considering patient age and culture, providing psychological support, and administering medications safely within the scope of practice. Accurate record-keeping for medications and treatments is essential, adhering to regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders. Communication of the plan of care to patients, families, and team members is crucial, ensuring HIPAA compliance. The role also involves utilizing best practices for patient care transitions, assisting with discharge planning, and adapting to changing work demands. The nurse will operate medical equipment safely, serve as a preceptor for new staff, and provide constructive feedback. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in nursing required
Registered Nurse License
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (i.e. sanitation, decontamination etc.)
Excellent patient experience skills
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form

Responsibilities

Assesses assigned patients and evaluates plans to include documentation of nursing care.
Reports symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs.
Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses, conditions and physician orders.
Reviews, evaluates and reports diagnostic tests to assess patient’s condition.
Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
