Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist - EMU/EEG
About The Position
MU Health Care is looking for a dedicated Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our team and play a vital role in our Electroencephalogram and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. As a Neurodiagnostic Technician, you will perform routine testing procedures and work closely with a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Requirements
- Registration in one of the following: --Electroencephalographic (R.EEG T.), Evoked Potential (R. EPT.), or Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET); or --Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologists (BRPT); or --Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T.) by the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technicians (AAET); or --Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Responsibilities
- Explain test procedures to patients prior to the studies and provide for psychological needs while in the laboratory to obtain quality test results. Differentiate the quality of procedure and patient cooperation for interpretive analysis.
- Perform scoring and long-term monitoring review.
- Communicate the patient's psychological status and environmental conditions during the procedure to the physician for consideration in interpreting test results.
- Adapt test methods and instrumentation to obtain optimal patient results.
- Clean, calibrate, and process neurophysiology equipment. Report equipment and supply needs to leadership.
- Recognize medically emergent situations and take appropriate actions.
- Complete necessary documentation and billing.
- Perform limited office, secretarial, and patient transport duties.
- Meet all Patient Family Centered Care standards and patient experience goals.
- May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
