About The Position
Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for a Registered Midwife – Birth Suites / Pregnancy Assessment Centre to join us in a permanent, full-time or part-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s first new public hospital in over 60 years, this state-of-the-art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board to practice as a Registered Midwife
- Degree-level qualification (Bachelor of Midwifery or combined Nursing/Midwifery)
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and competency in the provision of midwifery care relevant to a continuity of midwifery care model
- Provide clinical problem-solving skills to maximise midwifery care
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and coordinate midwifery care in a multidisciplinary team environment providing outcome-based care

- Recognise and maintain knowledge base and competence in Nursing/Midwifery practice
