About The Position

Registered Medication Aide (RMA) Rosewood Village – Greenbrier has been voted "Best Assisted Living" in Charlottesville six years running and "Best Memory Care" three years running. Now backed by Allegro Living, we're growing our care team and looking for Registered Medication Aides who take real ownership of resident wellness. You'll work in a community where medication passes aren't rushed, leadership actually listens, and your residents are the same familiar faces every shift — including in our Innovations Program, a dedicated memory care neighborhood serving residents living with Alzheimer's and dementia. The Medication Assistant is to provide resident care services including assistance with self-administration of medication, to the residents in the Assisted Living area under the supervision of the Resident Care Director (RCD) according to scheduled duties and assist in maintaining a positive physical and social environment.

Requirements

  • Current Virginia RMA certification, in good standing with the Virginia Board of Nursing
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Clear criminal background screening; drug-free workplace
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must possess current Medication Training certification.
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience with senior adults preferred (assisted living, memory care, or LTC)
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with senior adults highly preferred.
  • May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on the state requirements; if licensed or certified, must be in good standing with the state licensing or certifying agency.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid preferred or as required by the State.
  • Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications accurately and on schedule, documenting on the MAR
  • Observe residents closely and flag changes in condition to the nurse on duty
  • Support residents with daily living needs — always with patience and respect
  • Partner with the resident care team to keep care consistent across shifts
  • Able to approach all encounters with residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Assist residents with medications as allowed under State guidelines.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, positioning, transfer, mobility, and incontinence care.
  • Work closely with and maintain daily communications with the Resident Services associates to ensure continuity of care and services is maintained for the residents.
  • Participate in resident activities and lead resident activities as needed.
  • Meet customer service standards in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner with resident satisfaction a priority.
