Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical or Biological Science (Required)
American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Required

Nice To Haves

1 - 2 years’ experience clinical in a related field (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Performing a full range of laboratory tests
Confirming the accuracy of test results
Reporting laboratory findings to doctors, pathologists, or other physicians
Working in any of the major areas of the laboratory: Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry and Fibrinolysis
Operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments
Utilizing laboratory computer system in performance of duties
Maintaining strict adherence to established policies and procedures
Working under the supervision of a general supervisor, but working independently
Ability to Prioritize/Organize/Handle Quantity of Work
Accuracy/Quality/Completeness of Work
Complex Assignments Received/Delegated/Completed
Judgement Skills/Problem Solving Skills
Overall Procedure Knowledge/Quality Assurance Knowledge – including documentation as needed
