About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious leader to take the next step in their residential career as a Registered Manager for a children's home. This role involves delivering high-quality, safe, and nurturing care for four children aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. The Registered Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, lead staff practice, maintain strong safeguarding arrangements, and drive continuous improvement in line with regulations. The position requires confident leadership to ensure care is child-centred, outcomes-focused, and responsive to individual needs, including maintaining robust safeguarding systems, safe staffing, clear risk assessments, and effective multi-agency working. The role also involves supporting and developing the team through supervision, mentoring, and training.

Requirements

  • A Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children.
  • Experience of managing staff teams within a residential setting.
  • Strong childcare and safeguarding knowledge, including the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead with confidence, professionalism, and resilience.
  • Genuine passion for children's homes.
  • Strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Must complete an enhanced DBS check and meet safer recruitment requirements.
