About The Position

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist for their Perrysburg Medical Center. This role involves producing high-quality breast imaging procedures in accordance with ARRT, ACR, and MQSA guidelines. The technologist will perform various scans, including screening, diagnostic, invasive, and DEXA, for interpretation by a supervising physician. Requirements

Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)

Advanced modality registration in Mammography, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 1 year)

1 year experience as a registered mammography technologist (preferred)

Responsibilities

Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and consent is obtained by performing physician.
Correlates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed provider.
Conveys patient's clinical history to licensed provider prior to examination.
Selects and operates breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
Selects appropriate radiographic technique exposure factors to produce quality diagnostic images.
Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of the mammographic procedures.
Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
