About The Position

Responsible for the general oversight of all meal and nutrition related aspects of programming and patient’s nutritional care and services. Additionally responsible for providing nutrition assessment and counseling to patients. Coordinate care with clinical and medical treatment team to assist in treatment plans for patients.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office and the ability to use various software programs.
  • Experience and literacy with Electronic Medical Records systems and medical practice software.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check (Federal and state).
  • Graduate of an accredited Dietetics program.
  • Current RD license in good standing with WA State Certification.
  • Must possess current and active WA State Food Handler’s Permit, or obtain one within the first two (2) weeks of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with eating disorders, trauma, chemical dependency, mood disorders, and/or anxiety disordered patients.
  • Experience with Kipu, AVEA, and/or Waystar.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nutritional care for patients in residential, PHP and IOP programs, including nutrition assessments, care planning, monitoring and evaluation, and enteral nutrition therapy (residential only).
  • Coordinate weekly meetings with patients to develop meal plans and establish/assess nutrition goals using a HAES (Health at Every Size) approach.
  • Monitor and assist patients with meal preparation/planning.
  • Support with the development of meal and snack menus for PHP and residential patients that would positively impact treatment of anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.
  • Support the development of and lead weekly nutrition education groups for patients and parents/caregivers.
  • Maintain all nutritional data for patients in EMR patient charts.
  • Communicate with outside providers and patient family members regarding nutritional information as needed.
  • Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide regular meal & snack monitoring.
  • Ensure maintenance of kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Support and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality; monitor documents according to company and HIPAA policies.
  • Report any immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory personnel or maintenance personnel.
  • Adhere to WA State Requirements for Mandated Reporting.
  • Demonstrate awareness and respect for diverse clients and staff.
  • Adheres to THIRA Health’s compliance standards, Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Attend and actively participate in all required THIRA meetings, trainings, and all other coverage, duties, and special projects as assigned.
