About The Position

This position is responsible for providing nutrition management services in an outpatient and inpatient setting. The position will work as part of a care team at UNLV Health, including working with faculty, residents, and students. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. UNLV Health does not provide employment sponsorships or sponsorship transfers for any positions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or related field required
• Completion of dietetic internship and trainee program or equivalent required
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nutritionist Specialist Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments, plans and implements diet recommendations to children with special health care needs
• Selects the appropriate feeding modality for the patient and accurately calculates nutritional needs. Changes to the nutrition plan of care are made according to findings in a timely fashion
• Provides Nutrition consultation in the assigned interdisciplinary specialty clinics
• Assumes a proactive role with patient/family education and patient/family satisfaction in the practice setting
• Assumes personal accountability to enhance the patient experience by using high quality, patient satisfaction-directed interactions/tools/activities in the execution of duties
• Always interacts with patients and families in a compassionate and respectful manner, at all times
• Documents nutrition care plans and recommendations and ensures timely availability of information for inclusion in the interdisciplinary care plan
• Participates in training of staff, students, and residents; and as requested by Department Manager, mentors, and provides education on areas of expertise
