About The Position

The Registered Dietitian promotes the nutritional well-being of AHN clients by providing medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessments, individualized nutrition plans, and health education services. The ideal candidate has experience providing nutrition counseling, identifying and mitigating health risk factors, and developing effective nutrition care plans. This position may require seeing clients in community, clinic, and hospital settings as needed. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate an AHN company vehicle as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be a current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) in good standing; candidates with a provisional license will be considered.
  • Must adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel up to two times per week as required.
  • Ability to sit for 6 - 8 hours per day, including time spent at a computer workstation and/or operating a vehicle.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 3 - 6 hours per day.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, including keyboarding and data entry.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Required to pass a background check through the State of Nevada.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience as a Registered Dietitian preferred.
  • Experience providing nutrition counseling, education, and care coordination in a healthcare or community-based setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nutrition assessments and evaluate client needs to develop individualized nutrition care plans and education strategies.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy, disease self-management education, and one-on-one counseling to support healthy lifestyle changes and improved health outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of client interactions, assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
  • Conduct ongoing follow-ups to monitor progress and update care plans as needed.
  • Screen clients for appropriate health-related programs, services, and resources, and make referrals as needed.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients by collaborating with treating physicians/providers, insurance companies, community partners, and support organizations to ensure coordinated care and access to necessary services and resources.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure all required documentation, assessments, screening tools, and reports are entered into the database system in a timely manner.
  • Ensure records remain current and compliant with organizational standards.
