About The Position

At Community LIFE, our Registered Dietitian is responsible for individual nutrition assessment and care planning for older adults (age 55+) in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). This position includes individual and group education and counseling, and oversight of the health and safety aspects of food service provided at the Community LIFE adult day center. This position supervises the dietary staff. The Registered Dietitian will be required to make in-home visits (with mileage reimbursed) as necessary for assessment and on-going case management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in nutrition or dietetics
One year of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist working with the frail elderly population either in a hospital or nursing home setting (internship experience may qualify toward this requirement)
Current Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) registration and PA licensure
Valid PA Driver’s License
General clinical knowledge plus knowledge of nutritional supplements, diabetes education, and renal diets
Knowledge of principles of counseling and education
Sufficient understanding of windows-based computer applications to learn and use the electronic medical record and organize one’s schedule and required reports
