About The Position

For nearly 70 years, Stella Maris has been a leading nursing home, providing Baltimore-area residents with a comprehensive range of health and residential services. We are currently recruiting for a Registered Dietitian to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our mission driven organization to provide excellent care to our residents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum two (2) years experience
• Completion of an ADA approved Dietetic Technician Program
• Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration

Responsibilities

• Performs nutrition screening through review of the medical record, diet history, meal rounds, and interview with resident/patient and family according to department policies and accepted standards of care.
• Establishes realistic, measurable nutrition goals and develops individualized care plan for the low nutrition risk resident. Evaluates progress towards goal and documents interventions in a timely manner and in compliance with departmental policies and accepted standards of care.
• Provides appropriate diet education to resident/patient and/or family as needed in both the nursing home and homecare setting.
• Assists with the development of nutrition care and dietary policies and procedures and monitors adherence to policies.
• Assists with the development of regular and modified diets and menus.
• Assists with staff education as assigned.
• Represents department at Team and Care Plan conferences, Resident Council meetings, and other committees as assigned.
• Assists with the maintenance of data base in Geri-Menu computer system.
