About The Position

One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services. We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our Community Wellness Hubs. This role will support integrated, team-based primary care through the provision of evidence-informed nutrition assessment, counselling, and education services. The Dietitian will work collaboratively with Nurse Practitioners, nurses, social workers, system navigators, recreation therapist and community health staff to improve nutrition outcomes and reduce the burden of diet-related chronic disease across priority populations. This position offers flexibility, including remote/virtual service delivery options, up to 1-year contract. The position has a competitive salary, and option to join Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan. The salary range for this position is from $69,942 to $80,765 per year. We currently do not use AI to screen resumes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition with completion of a Dietitians of Canada–accredited internship program.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Demonstrated experience in primary care, community health, or chronic disease management.
  • Strong understanding of the social determinants of health and barriers impacting access to nutrition services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, and group facilitation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required for community-based work.

Nice To Haves

  • Membership with Dietitians of Canada is considered an asset.
  • Experience delivering virtual care and tele-nutrition services is an asset.
