About The Position

The Pines at Utica, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates and a Certified Great Place to Work, is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to join their team. Requirements

Active registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Valid and active New York State license
Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
Interest in the nutrition and health care needs of the aged and the chronically ill, with the ability to work with both
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a long-term care setting preferred

Responsibilities

Conduct onsite, comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents
Develop and ensure the implementation of individualized nutrition care plans
Collaborate with onsite interdisciplinary teams to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Assist the Food Service Director in managing costs, overseeing food preparation and service, and developing department staffing plans
Educate residents, families, and staff on nutritional requirements and healthy eating habits
Monitor and evaluate residents' nutritional status and make necessary adjustments to care plans
