About The Position

Trillium Health Partners is one of Canada’s largest community-based teaching hospitals, serving the growing and diverse populations of Mississauga, West Toronto, and surrounding communities. As an active member of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the delivery of patient-centered clinical nutrition therapy for preterm infants, paediatric and obstetric inpatients. You will provide quality nutrition therapy in relation to the patient's diagnosis, treatment, age, and nutrition status in an inpatient setting. This includes screening and assessment, contributing to care plan development, establishing goal-oriented treatment interventions, conducting patient/family education, and providing support to address the nutritional needs of preterm infants, children, and high-risk obstetrics. You will also educate patients, family members, and THP staff on therapeutic diets and nutrition therapy, provide group education to medical students, act as a coach/mentor/consultant using sound critical thinking skills, and serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns and coach/mentor for other students. Participation in interprofessional patient care teams and hospital/regional committees is also expected. The role requires completing daily workload statistics.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and a Dietetic Internship, or Master's or Diploma practicum program
  • Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario required
  • Established clinical skills in the nutritional management of medically complex infants, children
  • Experienced in the management of enteral and parenteral nutrition support in the NICU
  • Established clinical skills in the management of post-partum women
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively within a high paced team environment
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize practice-based research to ensure excellence in the provision of nutritional care.
  • Two years of recent experience with established clinical skills in NICU, paediatric inpatients, and high risk obstetrics.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and hospital information system – Epic (preferred).

Responsibilities
