About The Position

HealthWorks in Morgantown, WV, is seeking a part-time (or PRN) Registered and Licensed Dietitian to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized nutrition and weight management counseling to clients across Marion, Monongalia, and Taylor counties. The position involves providing 1:1 nutrition and weight management counseling, developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans, supporting diet therapy, education, and behavior change strategies, and planning, organizing, and evaluating all aspects of patient nutritional care. The role also includes educating clients and staff on nutrition-related topics and participating in required training to support WV Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) programs. Responsibilities also include ensuring clients' nutrition label program meets quality standards via audit samples, reporting audits, collaborating with the team on the ongoing needs of the nutrition labeling program, and participating in corporate wellness events. The role involves editing and creating nutrition education, presenting on various nutrition topics, participating in informational tabling, leading support groups and workshops, planning appropriate diets and menus, determining if follow-up appointments are needed, conducting nutrition education classes, serving as a community resource, monitoring and responding to phone and e-mail messages, entering nutrition notes promptly, and maintaining patient, employee, and computer data safety and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food & nutrition or related field
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential (Commission on Dietetic Registration)
  • Active West Virginia Dietitian License
  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient education skills
  • Willingness to complete required PEIA training
  • Graduate of an accredited school with a degree in nutrition, Bachelor’s required
  • Active, current, valid license in the state in which the clinic is located.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Training in Motivational Interviewing
  • Time management, punctuality, and organizational skills a must
  • Personable, compassionate, friendly, responsible and hard working
  • Must be able to work independently as well as be team oriented
  • Computer skills (Apple & Microsoft Office)

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and responds to phone and e-mail messages promptly.
  • Enters nutrition notes promptly when assessment is completed.
  • Maintains patient, employee and computer data safety and confidentiality.
