Provides nutritional care of at risk patients/residents and acts as a consultant to other health care professionals in determining the best nutritional care options for their patients/residents. This role involves completing nutritional assessments, providing input into Nutritional Support Service rounds, monitoring and documenting patient progress, and recommending formulations, rates, and volumes for tube-fed and TPN patients. The position also includes instructing patients and families on special diets and general good nutrition, developing plans of care based on clinical data, and providing oversight to dietetic technicians.
