About The Position

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a part-time role (16 hours per week) within the integrated health center team, collaborating with health center providers, staff, and the Population Health and Wellness Team. This position supports the primary care setting by expanding comprehensive care for participants. The RDN provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to individuals and groups, using evidence-based methods to enhance health, prevent disease, and support behavior change. The role focuses on nutrition therapy for weight management, diabetes care, cardiovascular health, metabolic syndrome, and chronic condition prevention through diet. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and delivering personalized nutrition care and support in line with client agreements and clinical guidelines. The position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus and strongly prefers bilingual English/Spanish speakers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from a US regionally accredited university or college with coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • 2+ years of experience working as a clinical registered dietitian.
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) nationally.
  • Licensed as a Dietitian in the state(s) where services are provided.

  • Certifications in specialized areas of practice (i.e., Diabetes education, sports dietetics, etc.) are preferred and dependent on customer/client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize medical nutrition therapy principles to identify dietary improvements for overall health across all life stages and provide patient education for chronic condition prevention and management.
  • Assess readiness to change, collaborate with patients and the healthcare team to set health-related goals, and provide support through individualized nutrition education and motivational interviewing.
  • Provide nutritional guidance based on guidelines and the patient’s economic, social, and dietary needs and preferences.
  • Lead various health-related workshops, lunch and learns, cooking demonstrations, grocery store tours, and support groups, delivering nutrition education.
  • Promote engagement with services through on-site wellness fairs and other outreach strategies as needed.
  • Document appropriate dietary history and nutrition-related goals in the electronic medical record and communicate with other Marathon Health providers, ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Provide nutritional consults for Marathon Health care team providers as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling medical appointments and making internal referrals as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
