About The Position

Lanessa Extended Care, a 96-bed skilled nursing facility in Webster, Massachusetts, is hiring a part-time Registered Dietitian for 24 hours per week. The schedule is flexible, and pay is up to $45 per hour, paid weekly. The position involves conducting nutrition evaluations, monitoring residents’ weights, developing and updating care plans, and overseeing therapeutic diets and dietary operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
• Must be up to date with COVID and flu vaccinations or acknowledge a declination of the vaccination(s).

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
• Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Monitor weights and weight changes and provide nutrition interventions when necessary.
• Complete nutrition evaluations for all admissions.
• Complete weekly and monthly weight audits.
• Document all nutrition-related resident visits.
• Create and update resident care plans.
• Provide point-of-service meal delivery.
• Follow therapeutic diet guidelines, including proper temperatures and serving times.
• Educate department staff on all aspects of dietary functions.
• Ensure the planning, preparation, and serving of all therapeutic diets.
• Oversee inventory levels according to policy and procedure, including emergency supplies.
• Formulate menus within accepted therapeutic guidelines.
• Ensure menus are followed accurately and appropriate substitutes are made according to policy.
• Ensure the quality and quantity of all food delivery.
