About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Dietitian to join their Allied Health professionals team. This role focuses on improving patient outcomes by assisting patients with their nutritional needs through assessments and recommendations. Registered Dietitians work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including SLPs, wound and skin specialists, and food services, as part of an interdisciplinary team to address and enhance patient nutritional well-being. Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Food and Nutrition.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Completion of an internship program and a member (or eligibility to become a member) of the Dietitians of Canada.
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical nutrition principles and evidence based nutrition practice
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to encourage, support and motivate patients and/or their families from a multi-cultural community.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to travel for cross-site coverage may be required.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years clinical experience is preferred.
  • Experience in TPN an asset
  • Access to a vehicle is an asset.
  • An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Providing appropriate assessment and treatment of referred patients/clients within an acute inpatient setting.
  • Prioritizing patient caseload to meet the needs of referred patients.
  • Recording client assessment, progress and discharge status.
  • Recording timely workload measurement data.
  • Works as a member of the health care team.
  • Flexibility in caseload and program assignment.
  • Able to manage patient caseload in a busy acute care setting.
  • Clinical supervision of clinical nutrition students/interns.
  • Some weekend and statutory holiday coverage may be required as needed.
  • Cross-coverage at both the Wilson and Reactivation Care Centres (Church & Finch locations) may be required as needed.
