This position serves as a Registered Dietitian within the WIC/MH Department, reporting to the WIC/MH Director. The primary work location is the Spencer office, with travel to traveling WIC clinic sites. This is an hourly position, eligible for benefits, and requires 30-40 hours per week, with hours varying based on clinic schedules and program requirements. The role involves functioning as the Competent Professional Authority (CPA) for program eligibility, assessing participant nutrition risks, prescribing food packages, and providing nutrition education, including breastfeeding support. The dietitian will also be responsible for documenting care plans, referrals, and screening for lead testing and immunizations. Additional duties include setting up clinic stations, managing supplies, reporting system issues, assisting with data system reports, providing follow-up education, and serving as a program nutrition information resource. The role also involves supervising nutrition educators, providing customer service, participating in outreach and quality improvement activities, ordering materials, communicating with physician offices, and providing nutrition assessments for Head Start/Early Head Start students. The dietitian will review Head Start menus, participate in community needs assessments and coalitions, and collaborate with various health and social service agencies. Attendance at state WIC meetings and conferences is required, as is assisting the WIC Director with grant action plans. Training requirements must be met, including continuing education for full-time staff. Other duties as assigned and reasonable accommodation for performing duties are also part of the role.
