About The Position

The clinical dietitian is responsible for providing quality nutritional care for patients by monitoring their current health conditions, advising nutritional and dietary supplements to maintain their healthy lifestyle, and speed up their recovery process. Coordinate with other medical professionals to assess food choices and develop nutrition programs for the patients. Essential Duties: Provide individualized nutrition counseling to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in a hospital setting. Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement personal dietary-care plans to address the unique needs of each client. The primary function of the dietitian is to complete nutritional assessments with patients in a hospital setting. Work collaboratively with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and recommendations for clients as needed. Schedule and coordinate initial assessment and follow up appointments Provides registered dietitian services according to policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, developing, and directing the nutritional care of the patient in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility. Works effectively with others to ensure that quality nutritional services are being provided on a daily basis, and acts as a resource to the Dietary Manager, to meet the patients nutritional needs. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or an equivalent field
• Certification/Licensure State of TX Licensed Dietitian (LD) or Licensed Nutritionist (LN) or ADA Registered Dietitian (RD)
• 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
• Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client.
• Knowledge of clinical nutrition theory and practice.
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
• Knowledge of sponsored nutritional programs and patient certification requirements.
• Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on research data and findings.
• Ability to resolve interpersonal problems, disputes and issues.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in hospital food service preferred.
