About The Position

The Registered Dietitian plans nutritional programs and provides education to assist in the promotion of health and management of disease. This is a temporary role that can be up to full-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position is open to working 3, 4, or 5 days a week at our Edina location. Almara Women's Health is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, dedicated to giving patients more control over their healthcare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution credentialed by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
  • Completed ACEND accredited supervised practice program.
  • Licensed Dietitian through the Minnesota Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice.
  • Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines.
  • Ability to complete job-required training.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.).
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Work in the clinic during business hours.
  • Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, or sitting for long periods of time may be required.
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of daily operations.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions.
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Travel to other work locations, if required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credentialing preferred OR experience in management of patients with diabetes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education for an assigned patient population.
  • Provide counseling and education services to patients with diabetes, obesity, and other indications requiring nutritional management.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and their family or support system.
  • Evaluate patient and family response to education.
  • Implement an individualized nutritional care plan, communicating the plan to the provider, establishing a follow-up system, and maintaining documentation.
  • Collaborate in the development, review, updating, and implementation of educational materials to meet the needs of patients and health professionals.
  • Utilize approved protocols for medication management to advance the plan of care when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers in the management and care delivery of patients per protocol and as needed to deliver the highest quality patient care.
  • Communicate regularly with MDs and APPs to best implement high-quality nutrition programs.
  • Partner with Providers and Leaders to ensure goals and strategies of Women’s Health are implemented in the growth and development of nutrition services.
  • Practice within the scope of MN State rules/regulations.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
