About The Position

The Registered Dietitian plans nutritional programs and provides education to assist in the promotion of health and management of disease. This is a temporary role that can be up to full-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position is open to working 3, 4, or 5 days a week at our Edina location. Almara Women's Health is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, dedicated to giving patients more control over their healthcare.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an institution credentialed by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Completed ACEND accredited supervised practice program.
Licensed Dietitian through the Minnesota Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice.
Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines.
Ability to complete job-required training.
Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.).
Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
Work in the clinic during business hours.
Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, or sitting for long periods of time may be required.
Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines.
Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner.
Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of daily operations.
Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Understand and execute a variety of instructions.
Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Travel to other work locations, if required.

Nice To Haves

Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credentialing preferred OR experience in management of patients with diabetes.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education for an assigned patient population.
Provide counseling and education services to patients with diabetes, obesity, and other indications requiring nutritional management.
Provide nutrition education to patients and their family or support system.
Evaluate patient and family response to education.
Implement an individualized nutritional care plan, communicating the plan to the provider, establishing a follow-up system, and maintaining documentation.
Collaborate in the development, review, updating, and implementation of educational materials to meet the needs of patients and health professionals.
Utilize approved protocols for medication management to advance the plan of care when appropriate.
Collaborate with other healthcare providers in the management and care delivery of patients per protocol and as needed to deliver the highest quality patient care.
Communicate regularly with MDs and APPs to best implement high-quality nutrition programs.
Partner with Providers and Leaders to ensure goals and strategies of Women’s Health are implemented in the growth and development of nutrition services.
Practice within the scope of MN State rules/regulations.
Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
