About The Position

The Registered Dietitian provides comprehensive nutritional care to patients who meet nutritional risk criteria. The Registered Dietitian identifies needs, plans, develops and implements nutritional education and services for a targeted population. The Registered Dietitian designs and develops standards necessary to ensure the accomplishment of nutrition program objectives and recommends adaptation or modification to conform to the requirements of changing organizational patient patterns and community needs. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports and implements the organization's vision, mission, and values. Determines priorities and methods of completing daily workload to ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely manner. Performs all job functions in a professional and courteous manner. This includes answering all general phone calls timely and providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Performs job duties independently and exercises good judgment. Fosters and promotes a culture of service excellence and accountability. Develops individualized Nutritional Plans for patients based on nutritional assessment, medications, health status, and collaboration with clinical providers. Observes, analyze, and records diet program and patient response to diets served to evaluate the effectiveness of the dietary program, determine necessary diet changes or supplementary feeding, and provide dietary information for related medical purposes. Re-evaluates and revises nutritional plans to ensure the continued adequacy and appropriateness of the nutritional plan, obtaining primary care provider’s orders as necessary. Writes progress notes in patient electronic medical records. Ensures HIPAA compliance by maintaining strict confidentiality of all patient data and E.H.R./Practice Management System (PMS) according to regulations. Attends applicable training, seminars, in-services, and educational classes to maintain skills competency and current knowledge for a standard of care and effective practices. Uses discretion and judgment in handling sensitive or confidential information. Identifies, initiates, and implements measures to deliver high-quality care to patients and improve services. Must be willing and able to work at all locations as needed to meet patient care needs. Must be willing and able to work all business hours including evenings and weekends. Complies with organizational policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a registered Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association.
  • Experience should include at least one year in related roles.
  • Has the ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies and procedures, benefits information, board minutes, routine mail, contracts, and instruction manuals.
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees, visitors, and management.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages, and apply introductory algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Ability to exercise common sense in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and in other daily situations that arise.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to make decisions and execute timely in order to produce a positive outcome.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing Epic is preferred.
  • Experience in community clinics and/or working with individuals of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.
