Since 1960, D’Youville Life & Wellness Community has provided Greater Lowell and surrounding communities with Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care earning the respect of its peers and the trust of the community at large. We are a 208-bed facility with 84-bed Special Care Dementia Unit. We are seeking to hire a Registered Dietitian - Part-Time. Part-Time; 24 hours per week.

Requirements

Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) registration through the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 2 years Clinical Nutrition experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of current best practices in medical nutrition therapy.
Strong knowledge of State and Federal regulatory guidelines, MDS and standards impacting Clinical Nutrition department in Long-Term Care.
Excellent client services, organization and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, develop, and direct the nutritional care of residents in accordance with policy and regulations.
Assess/Monitor the residents’ nutritional status and provides recommendations to clinical/medical staff.
Educate residents, families and staff on nutritional concepts and diet modification.
Work with other members of the team to ensure that modified texture or therapeutic diets are in compliance with the resident’s medical condition.
Administrative functions: orientation of newly hired staff; developing policies and procedures; complete employee performance evaluations; in-service education, etc.
Practice management by rounding.
Participate in care conferences and the communication of nutritional updates to residents and representatives as needed.
Complete resident nutritional assessments.
