About The Position

The Registered Dietitian (RD) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring nutritional services and medical nutrition therapy for patients in an acute psychiatric hospital setting. This position works collaboratively with physicians, nursing, dietary staff, and other interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient health outcomes while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body standards. This is a PER DIEM position which requires dietary audits three times per week, monthly inspections, in-services, and dietary consults as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field.
Knowledge of TJC, Federal, and State (CDPH) dietary regulations.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical nutrition experience.
Current CPR certification.
Handle with Care certification (Prior to completion of orientation).
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN).

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a mental healthcare hospital environment where attention was focused on serving the dietary needs of those experiencing human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, or other mental healthcare situations.
