Provides care for low to intermediate acuity level patients. Documents using the Nutrition Care Process. Able to provide initial assessment for patients with appropriate interventions/recommendations. Reviews and interprets all information to assess patient including H&P, ED admission notes, medications, lab values, nursing documentation and progress notes. Becomes familiar with enteral formulary; able to identify uses for different formulas. Reads, discusses and follows policies/protocols/procedures. Able to provide diet instruction and appropriate material. Communicates and reports findings or changes in patient status to preceptor. Communicates assessment, interventions and effectiveness of interventions to Interdisciplinary Team. Takes action based on constructive performance feedback. Functions within the ADA Scope of practice. Identifies patient using two identifiers on ID band prior to patient interaction. Accesses preceptor for questions or with a new skill. Identifies AMC QIT or committee for active participation. Identify teaching and research interests.
