About The Position
This is a part-time position (48-hour pay period) for a Registered Dietitian in a Medical Oncology Clinic. The role involves assessing the nutritional needs of radiation and chemotherapy outpatients, providing counseling on nutrition-related side effects of cancer treatment, and making recommendations to optimize patients' nutritional status.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in food and nutrition required. (Master's degree in dietetics required for those who graduated after January 2024).
- Degree must be from an accredited University or College approved by the Accreditation Council for Education and Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) or the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
- Current Kentucky Dietitian license required.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required, or registry eligible with the expectation of obtaining registration within the required probationary period.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) credentialing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess nutritional needs of radiation and chemotherapy outpatients.
- Provide counseling to patients on managing nutrition-related side effects of oncology treatment and the importance of nutrition in relation to cancer.
- Provide appropriate recommendations to optimize the nutritional status of patients.
