This role manages the clinical nutrition system to ensure optimum nutrition for all residents. The Registered Dietician will interview new admissions, develop initial nutritional care plans, and review them quarterly. They will attend resident care conferences to ensure care plans are being followed. The position requires a basic understanding of Food Service Department operations, including budget controls, personnel actions, quality food production, sanitation, safety, and nutritional care. The role also involves hiring, terminations, orientating, training, and counseling department employees, as well as managing work schedules. The Registered Dietician will support the Food Service Director when necessary, enter budget figures, menus, nutritional information, and dietary notes. They will also train the Dietary Service Program Assistant in these tasks. The role involves working with the Food Service Director in purchasing, production, and service of food in a timely manner, and assisting in purchasing supplies and equipment. The position may require assisting the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration.
