Requirements

• Registered Dental Hygienist license
• Proficiency in prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance
• Ability to perform periodontal charting, oral cancer screenings, and medical history reviews
• Skill in taking and evaluating radiographs and intraoral photos
• Experience with applying fluoride varnish and sealants
• Knowledge of administering local anesthesia where permitted by state law
• Ability to educate patients on home care, nutrition, and treatment recommendations
• Experience documenting care in a practice management system
• Ability to partner with dentists on treatment planning
• Knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards

Responsibilities

• Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance
• Complete periodontal charting, oral cancer screenings, and medical history reviews
• Take and evaluate radiographs and intraoral photos
• Apply fluoride varnish and sealants; administer local anesthesia where permitted by state law
• Educate patients on home care, nutrition, and treatment recommendations
• Document care accurately in our practice management system
• Partner with the dentist on treatment planning and help patients understand recommended care
• Follow all infection control and OSHA standards
